1930s Whiskey Cocktail drink recipe

Ingredients
2 oz Irish or rye whiskey4 dashes gum syrup
1 dash Angostura bitters
Directions
In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine ingredients and stir. Strain and serve in a glass with a cherry.
